Objectives 

This programme aims to give learners knowledge and skills required by employers in a variety of accounting and accounting support roles. They may undertake Accounting Technician positions with responsibilities for recording and compiling summaries of financial transactions of organisations for management purposes. The Diploma programme will run over a duration of twenty-four months for full-time learners and thirty months for part-time learners (four semesters in twenty four-months, consisting of six months each).Learners will be required to undertake work learning attachment/research project within the last semester before completion of the programme.The programme is divided into 15 core modules.

Description

 

Objective

The Bachelor of Commerce (HONS) Degree in Actuarial Science is a highly specialised professional programme for practitioners in the insurance, finance and investment fields as well as those aspiring to join the same. The degree provides both theoretical and practical underpinnings to the banking field, in particular bank supervision department. Batswana have been receiving Actuarial training in the UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa to mention but a few, and this is the opportunity for them to now acquire the qualification at affordable rates in their environment. The degree offers students the platform to analyze the financial costs of risk and uncertainty through using mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to assess the risk that an event will occur, and they help businesses and clients develop policies that minimize the cost of that risk. Career Opportunities : 
The B Com degree in Entrepreneurship prepares graduates to launch their own businesses and operate them successfully. Objectives 

The purpose of the Diploma in Entrepreneurship is to empower Batswana young men and women with entrepreneurial skills and knowledge so that they may go into self-employment and create jobs for themselves and their employees. Perhaps it should be emphasized that the mere launch of business projects is not enough. Projects must be put on a robust path of growth and sustainability. The entrepreneur can achieve this goal through acquisition of skills and knowledge in business management, hence the aim of this programme.

The Diploma in Entrepreneurship is designed to equip learners with knowledge and skills in areas of business management (marketing, accounting, human resource management, business communication, computing, entrepreneurial traits and general management).

Target Group 

  • Practicing entrepreneurs in any sector, and employees in both public and private sector.
  • Holders of BGCSE passes and other school leavers wishing to pursue a career in starting and managing their own businesses, or working in a business related environment.
